Film development and broadcasting support
The Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) champions film as a powerful tool for storytelling, job creation and cultural preservation. Our Film programme nurtures emerging and established filmmakers through funding, skills development and access to production resources. We are committed to growing a vibrant film industry in the province one that tells authentic Eastern Cape stories, empowers local talent, and contributes to the creative economy.

| Invitation to Submit Proposal for Co-Hosting of District Film Festivals and Screenings 2025/26. | The Eastern Cape Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) is a public entity of the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, with a vision to create an enabling environment for the development of arts and culture in the province and enable artists to realise their potential. As part of our mandate, ECPACC has set aside funds to invest towards rigorous marketing and promotion of the Eastern Cape as a film destination. This will be done through collaborating with industry player/s to co-host District Film Festival and Screenings, thereby attracting investors and film scouts to identify talent in in the province. The film will be an illustration of the work ECPACC undertakes. The production company will profile, and interview selected post and current beneficiaries that have been supported by the entity. | Guidelines for Micro Budget Film Fund 2025/26 | ECPACC seeks to support the development and production of six (6) Micro budget films that are produced and shot within the boundaries of the Eastern Cape. The core aim is to induce the number of quality films that are produced within the province. While providing an opportunity for entry to mid-level filmmakers to hone their skills. Simultaneously, showcasing our picturesque landscapes and exposing local talents in front and behind the camera. This Fund seeks to develop a profile of low budget film-making that is cost-effective, practical and commercially viable. This fund will support intermediate film makers, who have acquired some minimal experience of producing 1-2 works of film and are aspiring to venture into theatrical feature film development and production.
